Shining a Light on Governance and Scrutiny: Introducing our new brand identity

We’re delighted to launch a fresh new look for CfGS

This rebranding journey is more than a visual update; it’s a renewed commitment to our core values and purpose.  

Over the years, CfGS has grown in both expertise and impact, becoming a trusted authority known for transparency, accountability, and integrity.  

However, we felt our logo and brand didn’t fully capture who we are today or where we’re headed. Feedback from a recent brand questionnaire echoed this, highlighting that our existing logo felt dated and didn’t convey the bold, innovative, and collaborative spirit that defines us. 

We wanted our rebranding to align our visual identity with our new website, creating a cohesive look across all platforms. We’re also updating our digital assets and templates to reflect this new direction, so that we stay consistent and true to our brand’s mission.  

This update isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about presenting ourselves as we truly are—expert, approachable, and committed to collaborative positive change.  

We want to continuously evolve, ensuring CfGS continues to be impactful and connected to the communities we serve. By aligning all brand touchpoints, we aim to inspire greater trust and engagement, reinforcing our mission to promote transparency, accountability, and integrity in everything we do. 

Light Beam concept  

We’re excited to unveil our new logo, inspired by the Light Beam. This design embodies CfGS’s commitment to transparency, clarity, and strong governance and scrutiny. Our new logo also reflects CfGS’s mission to support better decision-making for the public good.  

Here’s our thinking behind the concept.  

The Square Foundation represents the stability and reliability CfGS brings to its work, grounded in expertise, trust, and integrity. We wanted this solid base to reflect the strength of our support and the positive relationships we build with people. 

The Light Beam emerges from the square, symbolising our role in both clarifying and illuminating governance practices. In this component, we wanted to highlight our commitment to openness and accountability, and project a shared vision for a better future.  

Our new logo represents our passion towards shining a light on good practice and change. The light from the beam opens a path towards a positive future with a forward-looking purpose.
